Shiva also known as The Eternal Mystic, The King of Yogis, The Master of the 18 Siddhas, Neelkanth, Rudra, Mahadev to name a few, Shiva has been worshiped throughout the world, through the ages.
Is Shiva a form, is he someone sitting somewhere?
Shiva is the one from where everything has come and in which everything is sustained, and into which everything dissolves. There is no way you can step out of Shiva. Shiva is Vishwa Rupa, the form of Shiva is the whole Universe, yet he is formless. One of the highest forms of worshiping Shiva is through the Rudra Puja.(Ancient Vedic Chants)
Rudra Puja is an ancient practice followed in India since time immemorial. Through this Puja one can aim for inner peace and fulfilment. In this Puja, Lord Shiva is worshipped in his Rudra form.
It is hailed by all Vedic scriptures as one of the greatest Pujas to remove all evils, to attain all desires and for all-round prosperity. Scriptures on Astrology prescribe this emphatically as a remedy for several planetary doshas.
Sankalpa is a thought or a wish, with which there is no feverishness attached and Puja is that which is born out of Fullness. Most of us have wishes and desires and hope for them to come true by holding on to it. More often than not, we find that these wishes do not get fulfilled. The secret of making our wishes come true is by taking a Sankalpa and dropping it at a Puja.
This Puja is performed with a crystal 'Linga'. Each ancient mantra that is chanted gets absorbed in materials like curd, milk, ghee, honey etc. which are used as offerings in the Puja. It is then offered to Lord Shiva with reverence, love and gratitude. The chanting of the mantras is so pure and meditative that it takes one to a different plane.
Usually people ask what is the purpose of life. Creation is simple a display and play of consciousness. Like the dancer and dance cannot be separated, similarly the Creation and the Creator are not two separate things. This truth was depicted in the form of Nataraja. The dance of consciousness is the whole Universe. This universe is celebrating everyday. One who knows that this whole creation is a dance, is an expression of joy, that truth is Shiva tattva.
And, getting this universal celebration on a global level we have the World Culture Festival, a celebration of humanity, service, love, devotion and oneness with 3.5 million people from over 155 countries on 11th-13th March 2016 in New Delhi, India, with a no better way to culminate the biggest peace gathering, a serene and Divine Rudra Puja on 14th March 6am-8am.
